Best utility vehicle maker, Mahindra had showcased the new SUV SsangYong Rexton at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. It will be called as the Mahindra XUV700 and this SUV will be brand’s most expensive and flagship model in India. The Mahindra Rexton or XUV700 will be powered by a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine that will stir out an optimum power of 179bhp and a peak torque of 420Nm. The SUV will also get a Mercedes-Benz sourced 7-speed automatic gearbox along with all-wheel-drive layout. It also offers a  ground clearance of 215mm. The estimated Price Range for Mahindra XUV700 will be Rs 20 lakhs to Rs 25 lakhs. 

#2 Mahindra TUV300 Plus


The TUV300 Plus will be a long wheelbase version of TUV300 sub-4 meter SUV. The model boasts os its longer measure and will come with a larger third row glass area. It will have a forward facing third row seats.  The SUV will get a 1.99-litre mHawk unit that makes 120bhp with 320Nm torque. The transmission options on the TUV300 Plus are likely to include a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit. The design is inspired by ‘Battle Tank.’The estimated Price Range will fall between Rs 8 lakh and Rs 12 lakh and it will have an engine of 1.99L mHawk.

#3 Datsun Cross


Nissan’s economical brand, Datsun will launch the Cross, SUV in the Indian market before this fiscal year ends. This 7-seater car will challenge the likes of Tata Nexon, Honda WRV and Maruti Vitara Brezza. The new model is similar to GO+ MPV, but it carries several significant changes both internally and externally. The car has aggressive styling elements like body cladding, integrated roof spoiler, new front and higher ground clearance to offer a sporty and tough look. Inside the cabin, the 7-seater crossover gets a touchscreen infotainment system, new air-conditioning, dual front airbags and new dashboard. 

The SUV also provides stability control, rear parking sensors and seat-belts for all the three rows. It is powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 67.06bhp of power and 104Nm of torque. Transmission options include a five-speed manual and a CVT automatic. The estimated price will range between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 7.5 lakh. 

#4 New Maruti Ertiga


Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker will launch the next generation Ertiga MPV in the second half of this year. The vehicle has already been launched at the 2018 Indonesia International Motor Show. The new model is developed on Suzuki’s new generation platform. The new model will be equipped with a new 1.5-litre VVT petrol engine and 138Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and an AMT unit. The estimated price range is Rs 7.5 lakh to Rs 12 lakh. The volume of the engine can be either 1.5L Petrol & 1.5L Diesel. 

#5 Mitsubishi Outlander 


After Mitsubishi became a part of the Renault-Nissan alliance, the company is currently planning to re-launch Outlander in India. While it is still sold in overseas markets, the SUV will come in a new avatar in the country and will sport new features such as Mitsubishi’s Dynamoc Shield grille and LED infused projector headlamps and many more.On the inside, it will feature 7-seat layout and will get a lower ground clearance compared to Pajero. While under the skin, this upcoming 7-seater car in India will get a 2.4-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine good for 167bhp and 225Nm of torque. The estimated price range will be around Rs 28 lakhs. The engine capacity will be 2.8L Duramaz Diesel. 

#6 Maruti WagonR MPV


To benefit from the undying popularity of the WagonR hatchback, the company is now working on a 7-seater MPV based on the former. It is likely to either come with a 1.2-litre K-Series or a 1.0-litre K10 petrol engine. Transmission choices are likely to include a five-speed manual and an AMT unit. The estimated price range will vary between Rs 5 lakhs and Rs 7 lakhs. The engine capacity options will be either 1.0L K-Series or 1.2L K-Series Petrol.
